According to the report 'Evolución del turismo urbano en España: Connectivity, markets and trends for the first half of 2025', prepared by Mabrian, three-star hotels will increaseán their rates by 8.2% on average, highlighting Madrid with an increase of 10.6%, Barcelona with 7.9% and Valencia with 8.8%.

For their part,four-star establishments recorded an average increase of 8.7%, being more pronounced in Madrid (14%) and Barcelona (6.3%), with both exceeding 200 euros on average per night.

This increase in rates is attributed to the increasing tourist demand in major Spanish cities, driven by improved air connectivity and the diversification of cultural and gastronomic offerings.

Madrid, for example, has experienced a 7.7% increase in long-haul seats, with new routes to China, the United States and Uzbekistan. Barcelona, meanwhile, has increased its long-haul connections by 8.4%, adding flights to Seoul and Lima.

In addition, the cultural and gastronomic offer of these cities has become a key attraction for visitors, which has contributed to the increase in demand and, consequently, to the rise in hotel rates.

This scenario poses new challenges for corporate travel managers and event organizers, who must adjust their strategies to adapt to the new hotel market conditions in Spain.
